Air freight weight charges:
Charges will be referring between actual weight and volumetric weight which is higher.
According to IATA regulations, the volumetric weight is calculated for parcel under 1 cubic foot*. If the weight of the consignment exceeds the actual weight, the freight will be calculated based on the volumetric weight
Example 1:
Size of parcel: 78cm (L), 40cm (W), 35cm (H)
Actual weight: 15kg
Volumetric weight = 78 x 40 x 35 ÷ 6000 = 18.2kg
Volumetric weight = 19kg
So the weight charges is 19kg referring to the volumetric weight which is higher than actual weight.
Example 2:
Size of parcel: 78cm (L), 40cm (W), 35cm (H)
Actual weight: 30kg
Volumetric weight = 78 x 40 x 35 ÷ 6000 = 18.2kg
Volumetric weight = 19kg
So the weight charges is 30kg referring to the actual weight which is higher than volumetric weight.
Note:
Parcel below 1kg will be charged under minimum volumetric weight as 1kg.
Parcel exceeds 70kg, single side exceeds 120cm x 100cm x 100cm, extra charges will be charged as overweight. Please do not hesitate to contact us for the above situation.
